The music and advertising industry both are looking for new revenue streams, and Sony BMG has found a way to bring the two together. Sony BMG's commericial Music Group had bought the Creative group in 2006 which was a company that handles graphic design, web design, video production, and other media related things. Today Arcade which opened in April as an extension of the creative group has signed deals with coca-cola's fanta, JcPenny's, and Ralph Lauren. The idea was that since Sony BMG had its own agency they might as well lend its services to third parties. Arcade not only allows Sony an opportunity to have their music selected for advertisements, Arcade could also one day could take over the ad campaigns for its sister subsidiaries.Jingle All The Way

Jingles have made a comeback to the forefront of many advertising campaigns today. Wrigley had recently commissioned Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, and Julianne Hough to remix its jingles for Big Red, Double Mint, and Juicy Fruit, respectively. Julian Casablancas of the Strokes, Pharrell of the Neptunes, and Santogold recently wrote a song called "My Drive Thru" for a Converse advertising campaign, even though that song was not a jingle. McDonalds recently held a contest to remix its famous "all beef patties" jingle from the 1970s. It is a new expression of the jingles, since they had gone out of style in advertisements some years ago, and have since been replaced by more standard music with a catch phrase line at the end, such as Kay Jeweler's "Every kiss begins with K" or "Come and get your love" from Alltel. Some think the jingle is making a comeback because it originally came up when times were "better," according to some. "Jingles" is a television show to be aired in CBS with judges, including Kiss' Gene Simmons. It will give contestants a chance to write jingles for actual products and a $100,000 prize.A-B Hopes Santogold Has Midas Touch For Lime

Anheuser-Busch has recently contracted Santogold, a multi-genre female artist who was the talk of the South-by-Southwest music festival, to be the creative sound behind their new beer, Bud Light Lime. The company hopes that her unique sound will help move Bud Light's first spin-off into a different direction to separate it from the original beer's image, which typically involves an ad campaign of comedic young men. The product is geared towards drinkers who would typically be imbibing Corona, Miller Chill, or cocktails. The brewer is giving away a remixed version of one of Santogold's songs on their website. They are hoping this musical tie-in will work better than their last. Jay-Z's album was linked with the Bud Select brand and he was even named co-brand director. While the album sold, the beer failed to take off and is now only marketed to select urban areas.Come To The Country
