As people start to talk more and more about the death of the CD, Record stores have a new idea to gain back some ground. On April 19th 2008, it will be the first every "Record Store Day". At participating stores there will be offerings of free promotional goods like CD's and vinyl. There will also be performances and meet and greets by artist like Metllica and Regina Spektor. This is a way to try and bring old and new generations together to experience what a Record store really is.
