Buzznet is an online social media network that has been coming into its own in the music market. It aims to be an all-together site for music fans where users create a great deal of the content and community through blogs, picture and video uploads, and more. The site recently acquired music blogs Stereogum and Idolator, as well as adding Universal Music Group (UMG) as a content partner and equity holder. Buzznet served as the official online community for the Coachella music festival and provided similar service for Vans Warped Tour. Artists such as 30 Seconds To Mars and Avril Lavigne have held contests on the site where fans upload videos and photos. At the same time, it looks to set itself apart from social networking sites, such as MySpace.
