BMI had a 7.2% increase in royalty collection for the year ending June 30,2008. BMI had overall success in all sectors besides miscellaneous. Terrestrial television and radio collections both rose during the past year due to the new agreements formed between the companies and BMI, which involves the use of digital music. BMI’s revenues significantly rose also because of music used by Sirius and XM. BMI believes that because the fee structure has been simplified, and the time spent on logistics and collections has become greater they have been able to expand their amount of success. Even overseas the company’s collections has rose by 4.3%, and BMI plans to use technology from overseas to collect and provide performance data from radio nationwide.
