At the Music & Money Symposium held in New York on March 6 the main topic of discussion was fresh new sources of revenue in the industry. High-priced investments are still being made, but only on a selective basis, while new revenue channels are still being persued by companies from all sectors of the industry. The live performance sector is one that is particularly seeking new avenues. Ticketmaster is exploring the ticket resale business, which is anticipated to have a growth of 100% year over year. Investors are stilling willing to pay for new opporunities, but the tight credit market has made it difficult for them to leverage deals the way that they would like. This has caused current deals to not offer the returns previously available as a consequence.
