Live Nation is in the process of changing its venues in the San Francisco Bay Area to more environmentally friendly operations. The venues involved with the change are Shoreline Amphitheatre, Sleep Train Pavillion, the Fillmore, the Warfield Punchline Comedy Club, and Cobbs Comedy Club. The first goal was to offset carbon emissions from both the event and the people travelling to the venues. Changing out 2,000 lightbulbs may be expensive from the get-go, but the life span of the lightbulbs saves energy and replacement costs. Internally, they have increased recycling efforts by 15% and reduced water consumption by 5 million gallons. 25 cents from each ticketsold gelps Live Nation with the costs of going green. These efforts in San Francisco are helping Live Nation to approach this issue and practice at a national level.
